    Default utorrent peer connections?

hey guys probably a dumb question but i seem to have trouble connecting to peers with utorrent. sometimes there will be like 60 peers i would love to seed to and i cant grab even 1. are there any tricks i have missed to make my client more connectable? i have the settings set like most people with encryption forced and the usual bandwidth settings. i am on broadband with no router. just gets frustrating sometimes. when i tested out vuse for a while it seemed to seed better faster and more consistent. though sadly i hated the client and quickly went back to ut. any help is greatly appreciated

You didn't give us much information to go on e.g. utorrent setting: bandwith, upload slots, speedtest, what trackers are we talking about, etc so I can only generalize. I don't see why there should be a large difference between clients if they are configured the same.

You should check for obvious things, such as confirming that your client is connectable and not hidden behind a firewall. But at a guess you either have a slow upload path to the net or perhaps the torrents or tracker in question is well served by seedboxes. Torrent clients will favour the faster swarm connections. So if there are a number of seedboxes or even people with substantially faster uploads than yours, then you will have problems seeding because most clients will connect to other seeders with faster connections.

    2 questions:

    1. What trackers are you experiencing this with? On saturated trackers like What.CD, it's common to have a few dozen leechers, but not have a high enough priority to seed to them, because there are so many people with 10Gbps seedboxesthat are fighting for (and winning) the upload credit.

    2. Are you seeding a bunch of big combo-pack torrents? Often times it's not against tracker rules to download just part of a large pack - when someone does this and continues to seed the part they did download, they will always appear as a leecher because they haven't fully downloaded the content. But they're asking the torrent client to skip the remaining files, so you can't seed to them.

Also, like others said above, double check that your port is forwarded correctly by using a port check tool. It may also be in your interest to use Glasnost to check for packet shaping from your ISP, both on your torrent port, and in general.[COLOR="Silver"]

well after a little research i believe this is the answer to my question. the tracker i have most trouble with is hdt. being a hi def tracker with large files most members have seedboxes or at least very fast connections. so my connection is not high in the list off peers. think i will need a seedbox to really get any kind of buffer on hdt.
thanks for all the help guys.
