Default Google Chrome acting really weird

Hi, guys. I seem to be experiencing a really strange problem in Google Chrome since about 24hrs. It's basically really slow. Here is a speedtest from Firefox - everything as it is supposed to be. And this is a speedtest done in Chrome. My ping is outrageous for a server 100km away and my down speed is 5 times lower than normal. These are my extensions and plugins running in the background if this helps any bit.
    Any ideas?

Shoot it & put it out of it's misery?

So if firefox works fine + chrome doesn't + presumably you mean on the same computer. Then yeah, something is screwy there. If a reboot doesn't cure it, then it's probably easier to reinstall than troubleshoot.

Back up your bookmarks + keep the screenshot of which plugins you have.. then take it out back and dispatch it. Reinstall and confirm that it's nice & fast again, before playing Russian roulette with all of the plugins again. =8-)

Wow that's so weird, the exact same thing happened to me earlier yesterday except I had extremely slow speed and outrageous ping with the firefox speedtest instead and the google chrome one came out good I believe it had something to do with my seedbox but I don't see how.

edit: what? did we like all decide to post like at the exact same time?

shadowbuild, that did the trick ;) I feel really stupid for not even thinking of the cache. Tried rebooting the machine and restarting the browser many times but never thought of the cache. When I think of it, this totally makes sense. The cache takes a serious daily abuse from numerous youtube tabs. Anyway, all is well now. Thanks a lot!

i use CCleaner made by Piriform. they also make a nice defragmenting program called defraggler. the ccleaner cleans all the cookies and caches. the only downside of chrome is all the information it builds up and saves so fast making things slow.

Unfortunately, CCleaner is not available for Mac but the built-in functionality to clear cache in Chrome seems to do the trick just as well.

Interestingly enough, after a couple of hours of light browsing the problem is there again... this definitely isn't normal.

Sounds like an uninstall/reinstall is in your future...
