The piece size is the size of pieces a torrent is split up into when you're downloading it. i'd advise you to leave it at the default settings.
default is 256kb.but i wanna upload a big file like 80 gb.is it ok for it.
use higher piece size as it will take long time for hashing if u use small piece size. I would suggest 4 or even 8 MB to make torrent.
I had the same question some time ago here:
http://www.torrent-invites.com/resol...-torrents.html
the default for large files is usually 2mb or 4mb. 8mb is pretty large, i'd suggest max 4mb for that filesize.
i try 4mb before asking for help.its taking too much time.is it ok.
I've personally never gone above 4mb so I wouldn't know how much faster torrents would hash. But even with 4mb large torrents can take a while to hash.
It should as ur file is huge:D
So i am also suggesting to use 4 MB as it is the best piece size for big files:)
2 or 4 MB are probably good choices. While increasing the chunk size adds efficiency, it can also lead to memory allocation errors and other fun stuff, depending on how many torrents you have open, how large they are and so forth. Which is one of the reasons that I wouldn't choose 8 MB+ chunks.
If you run into allocation errors, you can usually resolve them by reducing the number of upload slots or (assuming linux, e.g. a seedbox) increasing your max_memory_usage setting to allocate more shared memory.
