Thread: How to leave a tracker?

I was looking to join one specific tracker, as it was made out to be pretty awesome.
But as I joined, it was a major letdown, and I regard the trackers that I'm already on as superior to it. So I wish to leave it.

Question is: How do you leave a tracker in a respectful manner?

Should I just stop using it, and let it get disabled due to inactivity?

Note: I joined the tracker through external recruitment, and as so; I won't be throwing away an invite of anyone, or putting anyone at risk of any worse consequences. As of now, I see no point to mention the name of the tracker, as it's more of a general question.

I remember reading in a certain tracker's rules that if you do not plan on using the account, just let it prune. That's what I would do in your situation.

There is really no respectful manner of leaving a tracker. The least unpleasant way of leaving a tracker is just to let it be disabled due to inactivity. The slots for your account will then be gone and someone else will register and takeover. If you belong to a user class/rank that is immune to being disabled due to inactivity, just leave it be or if you really insist on leaving, just talk in their IRC help channel.

BTW, the tracker you're leaving may have this in their rules.

Trading, selling, sharing, or giving away your account is prohibited as well. PM a mod to disable you if you no longer want it.

try pm'g a staff in the site stating that u wish to delete your account or disable it

its very nice of u that you are making an effort to vacate the place so that someone would benefit from the empty membership slot
nonetheless it would be easy to leave alone tthe account as it will get pruned in a matter of months
