Thread: How to get connectable with Time Warner

Okay I have a problem I switched to TW cable and I cannot get connectible because TW will not give out username/password on the router?
I find it hard to believe that all the torrenters on TW cable are not connectible but maybe they are. It's not a major issue I think it's something like 7% more speed and my speed now is over 1mb so it's ok but it bugs me.
Any suggestions besides getting a different provider?

TW is pretty strict about messing with your modem as far as I know.

Or are you talking about their combined wifi router/modem??

Oh and BTW after I woke up and opened my browser one morning to see a Time Warner P2P Copyright violation notice staring me in the face, I've switched to torrenting only on seedboxe :)

What site were you using?

Boy am I glad that when I downloaded the Hurt Locker it was on my seedbox, apparently there is a mega lawsuit going around right now on that.

Good to hear that most likely priate bay you should never ever download from public trackers all the big ones a monitored by big ISP's.
If you stay on good private trackers you will most likely be fine for now. Seedboxes work but they are not as good as a VPN service imo.
I been downloading a good 100G a month for over a year with TW and never got even a letter.

Yeah your correct the people that downloaded the Hurt Locker on public trackers get hit pretty hard in some cases.

Do you mean that a VPN is safer than a seedbox? Am I somehow still at risk with a seedbox?

Yeah I guess I just had bad luck with District 9 but as I'm not on any private trackers for movies yet I have to use public ones

That's no good, you should be fine with a seedbox but still don't use public trackers.
Check out the "Open Trackers section on TI there are a ton of open private trackers now and get on some and stay away from public ones.
