    Default Computer help

    This is driving me crazy

For months I have not been able to access some websites or sometimes only half of the website loads.

I checked for viruses, there is no vrus on my computer.

I try to access hotmail for example..sometimes I have to click ""refresh "several times until it loads. Sometimes it does not load at all. I have no idea what the fucking rpoblem is. It happens with let's say 20% of the sites and 10% of the sites barely load or only load for half.

    What can this problem be?

Alright, I am no expert but this could possibly be a dns issue. Try changing your dns server address to Google's( or any other public dns server..Norton etc) public dns server.
If you are using windows, go to Control panel->Network and sharing center-> change adapter settings--> ( Network you are using)-> Right click ..Properties then select Internet protocol version 4(TCP/IPv4)->its properties and --> Tick Use the following DNS server addresses and put

    • 8.8.8.8
    • 8.8.4.4

These are Google's public dns servers.

    Validate settings and OK.

Before making any changes write down or take a screenshot of your current dns server settings so that you can always go back to your previous settings if this doesn't work as expected.

    Hope that helps

Edit: Didn't read jb's post as he posted while I was typing.

Sounds for me llike a massive packet loss. How are you connected to the internet? Do you use wireless lan? Do you have another computer in the same network? Does it have the same problems? Do you use a switch? I think you should provide some more informations about your network.

Are you torrenting while trying to browse the web?

If so you will have to change some settings in preferences.

-Which anti virus are you using? It's possible that it may be blocking content.
-Which browser are you using and is your OS up to date, do you have flash installed?
-Go to speedtest.net and make sure that you are getting the speeds that you should be getting on your internet plan.
-Are you using a proxy server of any kind?
-Is there anything on your internal network that may be restricting bandwidth - Anyone else downloading, etc.

First reset your router (factory default settings) if this won't help make a fresh win7 system install... install microsoft security essentials + firefox 4 and all should run great :D
