    Default Rep Power

    Hey guys,
Sorry if I'm being silly and missing something but I've searched for ages and can't find the answer.
I did find that if I -neg rep someone, they lose half of my current rep value?

But what is my "rep power"? I saw a thread showing where it was on the old site but in my UserCP I just see my rep points are currently 113. Surely I am not giving 113 points to someone I rep!?

Can someone tell me how rep power is calculated?

If T-I's vBulletin works just the same as the other vBulletin rep functions, then yes, every rep you give will give that person the amount of rep points that you've got. In essence, your rep points = your rep power. By vB default, it should be the same when you neg somebody, too, so that person'll get -113 reps from you.

I dont think thats correct though buddy?
I got a rep from two senior staff lately with LOADS of rep, and I got like maybe 50 from each? roughly though.
edit, infact i got less than 50 i think from each staf..

Although a 10% user gave me a rep and I know I got 1 point from that user.

    Ah, well, apologies.

Back then though, like earlier at the start of the year, rep points given were determined through user specifications. Apart from the old "Thanks" button that gave 1 rep, users could specify how much rep points they were going to give in the "Add to Reputation" function but the option doesn't seem to be available now in this new version. Sorry, guess we'll just have to wait for mods to answer this one. Hehe.

Yeah I had a look around vBulletins website, default rep power is 10 but it can be set in admin control panel. I'm pretty sure TI's is controlled by how many reps you have yourself = how much you give out. maybe its /10 or something.

But yeah, I'm sure someone will answer this one. Probably worth adding to the FAQ too because as I said above, it tells you how much the person loses if you NEG rep.
