gonna kinda dodge your question a bit here and recommend the hell out of 7-zip - imho, better and faster than winrar, and free, no less. debian/ubuntu binaries are available here.
there is no need of registration pal .....

if you use winrar download from winrar lab it will expire.when trial period finish you cannot use it.
but for unlimited use you have to use a crack version.i am using a crack version.there is no need to register this.
if you google you can find it or if you want i can send you link.
ıt doesnt say anythign about 40 days it just say its not registerd
From their website licence terms section:
But as a user mentioned above you'll probably be fine even after 40 days period..Anyone may use this software during a test period of 40 days. Following this test period of 40 days or less, if you wish to continue to use WinRAR, you must purchase a license.
I remember I use winrar non registed like 1 year in winddows BTW make register is make any speed change raring ? if its not Well I dont want to anythinfg xD
there's no speed difference between a registered and unregistered version of winrar. it's entirely dependent on local resources.
The only difference is it doesn't give you annoying reminders to buy their software. 7-zip is indeed better, though sometimes it gives me problems with multi-part archives.
