    Default SeedBox Error - Tracker: [Could not connect to server]

    Hi, I have a question. In my seedbox I have the error "Tracker: [Could not connect to server]" only with the tracker PretoMe. How do I fix it?

    I can download from this tracker without problems but I can not share any of the downloaded torrents.

    you need to test the connectivity from your sb to their tracker. Maybe there is dns issue or they block your sb's ip.

    Ok, but what do I do that? or should I ask the administrator of the seedbox?

    Could this problem be related to the fact that exist torrents with cookies or without cookies for download in PretoMe?

    yup you should ask the admin of the sb. "Tracker: [Could not connect to server]" usually means connectivity issue...it has nothing to do with cookies like you said.

    I generally get this same error (even though everything else seems to be ok) when I'm using feralhosting, but when I check the stats of the torrents I'm running, everything is updated fine. I pretty much ignore it since it doesn't seem to cause any real damage for me.

    Have tested it out for you and found it's happening on mine at the moment. So I wouldn't worry about it at the moment. If its still doing it tomorrow or in a couple of days I will investigate further.

    Forcing a manual update results in it updating fine. Give it a try on yours.

    Because everything is downloading and uploading fine I think you will fine there is no connection issue on the network side. It is more likely that PTM's tracker is refusing frequent updates, so every second check in is working fine. Either that or they are having some tracker issues due to load, or an attack, so requests are only getting through every now and again. Could just be that the number of users has greatly increased and the tracker is straining to keep up.

    Investigated further. PTM are sticking two tracker URLs in every torrent. The .net URL is working, so thats where all your peer info is coming from. The .me address is currently offline, resulting in an unable to connect message. The .net and .me trackers are hosted on different IP's, one up, one down.

    you could try flushing the DNS cache, it worked for me when I had the same issue with PTP. To do this you can use nscd.

    so first ssh into your box then
    sudo apt get install nscd
    or whatever command you use for your distro
    then
    sudo /etc/init.d/nscd restart
