Thread: I have a question about invite giveaways

Ok so I have a question about invite giveaways someone ( I will not use there name ) Opened a thread for a Invite Giveaway and they told all those applying to Post 2 ratio's and post a speedtest , and then they recieved like 17 People who applied they didn't let any of us know that the invite was gone and they gave it to someone who Didn't even Apply in the thread or post at all, I know the Person that they gave it to Made a request but is that allowed and right to do something like that ? After they opened up a give away

of course its right its their giveaway they can do what they want and give it to who they think is most deserving

I think we should let the final decision fall with the staff since I don't think there's a specific rule governing this but IMHO, if said user gave the invite to another user of T-I, he should be required to ask that invitee to post in his giveaway and give iGiver upon receipt of the invite. If he gave the invite to a friend who isn't on T-I, I guess it's all fair since it is his own invite but he should (out of courtesy) let everyone in his thread know that the invite has been given away and he should close his thread (and this situation shouldn't be happening that many times either).

I just think that is wrong to have so many People apply and take the time thinking that they have a shot at getting the invite, and then just giving it away to some one on a request & not let anyone know or close the thread. Why would you have even opened up a giveaway if your going to do that. I just think it is wrong and I am upset, I was just wondering if there was any rules about this & what the Mods thought on this subject.

The mods will side with the giver. Remember, you aren't entitled to anything. It is entirely up to the invite giver to distribute his or her own invite as he or she sees fit. Rules shouldn't obligate the giver to go out to his 17 applicants and say sorry. That harms the sharing spirit instead of helping it. Also, why's the matter that he gave it to someone else important to you? Knowing why he did that won't change anything. Also, you said it was given in a request. What if the request had been going on for months? Or the requester was more qualified? There's lots of unknowns that you'll just have to accept, like it or not.
