Thread: should i drop this account?

ive joined a good amount of popular private trackers and i use one account mainly to dl stuff and cross seed it accross most others so as not to hurt my ratio in other places, that site is torrentday and i think its a really good site but it seems like most people dont like it, is it insecure should i just drop it to avoid problems?, ive built up a really good ratio there but i would rather have peace of mind what do you guys think?

it is your choice. no websites are 100% secure actually.

i've still got my bitsoup acc for the same purpose (cross-seeding) and i'm going to keep it as long as i find alternative trackers that are more leet but still easy to seed (or ratioless).

having IPT and BTN will probably do the job for you. well, IPT itself could do it but BTN is a good source for TV cross-seeding shEt (just in case ;P)


it all comes down to you...how good are your speeds? how much do you want to hustle for a barely manageable/good ratio? has the tracker future? what kind of community and staff are you looking for? ans do on

well i guess i'll keep it then i was worried more about security and i do agree ipt and btn are perfect candidates for cross seeding. in the end its good to have various options for cross seeding if i want to survive in the tougher trackers i suppose, thanks

I actually USE only a few of my trackers, keeping others for their special points, and do cross-seeding in them.

But, I personally failed to find a very good reason behind keeping a TorrentDay or BitSoup account, if u have couple of other good trackers. No offense, just my opinion.

It only depends on which trackers you are. If you have PTM and at least one of these TV, IPT, TL, SCC, GFT, ...
and if your upload is not so bad, you could drop it if you want to. It is your choice. If you're in TL or IPT (these ones aren't so hard to get) then sincerely you don't need TorrentDay. As I said before, it's your call.

I think i'm in much the same boat as you...had TD for a long time, have a good ratio and good amount of upload credit on it. Since joining T-I I have also joined several other "better" trackers, but still use TD to download most of my stuff and only cross-seed to the other trackers to build up a ratio. Here's my observations so far:

1) I haven't found another site that is as easy to maintain a ratio and have as good pretimes as TD. E.g. although TL is great as far as speed and quantity of torrents is concerned, it doesn't have a bonus system and most people have seedboxes. That makes it really difficult for someone like me to maintain a ratio. All I seem to do there is serve others. Even if I do get a seedbox, I'm spending more money that I would have with TD, I have a more complicated setup, and I don't get a whole lot in return.

2) The only reason I'm keeping TL and the others is to build up a ratio for proofs to get invites to other better trackers (BTN, BitmeTV, etc.)

Long story short...I'm not giving up my TD account any time soon...I have dozens of RSS feeds set up in utorrent for my TV shows, and most of them download before I'm ready to sit down for the night and watch them. With great pretimes, easy seeding, and a bonus system, I don't see any of the "general trackers" like TL or IPV taking its place anytime soon. Maybe once I get an invite to one of the the big league specialized trackers I'll have no more need for it, but until then...

PS - I heard TD might be going totally private in a few months. This is complete hearsay, and may be false, but it's pretty easy to keep the account active in the meantime just in case it does!
