Default Weird Login Problems and Strange Resolution??

So I'm logged into a tracker today and have been browsing files, downloading and uploading torrents, away from the computer for a while, all logged in.

I accidentally hit logout. So I click login and using google chrome, automatically had it fill in my saved password and username I was just logged in under. Login Failed! What? How's that possible, I was just browsing! I never changed my password!

I tried all day at different times thinking it was an error. No dice. So, instead of giving me the option to recover my password via e-mail, a hyperlink says click here. I click there. A java window pops up "which is unsigned" and tells me it wants access that could lead to personal files on my computer. I obviously don't know why this is happening, so I click out. Why resort to such a method of password recovery, and why not be able to login when you were JUST logged in? I have good ratio and no issues. Any insights???

Hi, did you try filling out your username/password manually? And that Java link it must be trying to launch an online chat environment for you to connect to their irc help channel.

By the way which tracker are we talking about?

Indeed strange, can you give us any other info such as the name of the Java applet?

If you would've been kicked from the tracker, the main reasons I can think of is if you'd have posted a forum message there not to the liking of the mods there, or if your inviter there did something wrong and a grumpy mod decided to kickban his/her whole tree (not that I'd suspect and of our noble inviters here to do such a thing ;) )

Take a look if there was a Captcha and it was auto completed (because they change every time you log in!)
I had the same problem with BG and I still have it. It just needs to hit the log in button twice!
Assuming that you are using the autocomplete provided by your browser I would say you to try downloading the lastpass (LastPass - Password Manager, Form Filler, Password Management). It has never failed for me so long! And you can have your passwords and username handy wherever you are!
    Hope that helped you

Hey, thanks for all the suggestions. I tried with Firefox, still no luck. I have manually tried entering the password from my stored passwords in both firefox and Chrome, and both were valid earlier in the day yet both fail. I have not posted on their forums or done anything disruptive, but do have a good ratio. The tracker is bitsypder. The applet is IRCApplet.

The java applet gives me a warning, stating: Warning-Security - this applications digital signature has an error. This application will run with unrestricted access to your personal information and other facilities, including your webcam and microphone, etc. Another warning states that the digital signature has expired.

Even if IRCApplet is a legitimate applet, doesn't this seem a bit intrusive, and peculiar for password recovery, especially when you can confirm you've never changed your password? It's like forcing you to click the applet link if you want access, which I haven't done because the whole thing is quite strange. ??? Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.

P.S. I forgot to mention the captcha thing. Yes, I have done the captcha thing successfully, manually, repeatedly.

Yes, good point. My concern was why it got changed in the first place, but also, the odd form of password recovery... seemed quite intrusive having access to your files like that. So I am using mirc instead of the java applet as a workaround. Hopefully someone logs in soon lol.

So I've been logged in in MIRC all day, no one's logged in over at the channel to help. So I decided to just try and run the Java Applet in Chrome.

I get a pop up that says: "Warning, this application is trying to initialize components that pose a security risk. Block unsecure actions? (recommended to press yes.)" I pressed yes and the screen stayed white. I closed the browser after just a few seconds of being up.

Have any of you guys experienced anything like this on any tracker before? Really strange!!! I still can't login and there's no way I'm going to load that applet!
