    Default Fav GIF animation program?

For those that create those groovy GIF animations. What is the program you prefer to use?

I've used many, but I find they all lack some feature that another one has. Photoshop takes a few more steps, but it's probably the best. Maybe there's an action for Photoshop that helps make animated GIFs? (I just thought of this as I was typing.. have not tried googling that.)

I'd like to get your input.

    Thank you.

    THANKS is always appreciated!

I use simple ones, like Ulead GIF studio or CoffeeCup GIF animator.

Actually.. that'll teach me to Google first. I found some great stuff on simplifying complex animations in Photoshop. But, what do you use?

    Time to restart that thread!
I've tried lots of differents softwares, but I like photoshop the most. You can even find a precracked photoshop cs5 (portable version, 120MB) that will do the trick.
What I like is that you have complete control over your gif: you can crop it, delete frames, reverse, add effects... and the save part is the best, you can optimize it then: it gives a preview of what it's going to be like, and you can adjust the size, number of colors and other options to make it the smallest size possible.
To prepare the sequence (if you want to make a gif from a video), I either split the video then convert it to .mov (easier to use with photoshop) or extract frames with KMplayer.

I know it's still a lot of hassle for most people that hope to make a gif in two clicks, but I don't know any better way to do it yet.

    Ideas, anyone else?

I actually use PS CS5 atm, but would like to learn adobe after effects, it's got way better animation capabilities.

Photoshop sucks when making animations, I wasted countless hours making some of the most simplistic stuff. The best program for that sort of stuff is Adobe After Effects Seems like many people don't know about it, but I encourage you to try it out, it has some pretty cool effects, but wait this was made one year ago......well it might help someone..............
