Thread: Little help with the new banner =D

Hi guys.

Got a new banner made.

However have had to cut it a bit to make it fit.

Would like someone to put back the bits i have had to cut out.



Will make sense when you take a look....

Uncropped banner



See how there are bits coming off the top?

Had to be cropped off otherwise screws with the formatting.

However we can easily add them back by modifying these images




Some of them anyway.

Also while your at it.... stretch the banner about 2 pixels wider see how it doesnt perfectly align?

well,I made it 2 pixels wider...

You know i didnt mean literally right?

I want it to fix in that space exactly.

Just looks like 2 pixels by eye.

the original size of the actual banner is 849*120 and I made it 851*120.You didn't mean to do this?

I got it, just give me a couple of minutes. Would help if we knew exactly what size you need the banner at, we are just going to have to try a couple of sizes and see which one fits nicely.

Let me know if you need to change the size of the banner again, because if the banner needs to be stretched or shrunk again then so does the content that spilled over the original jpegs.

Also, the black spikes at the end of ".com" can't be spilled over unless theres one complete jpeg on the top of that area, its up to you if you want that to be changed as well.

Just tell me what needs to be done :]

Now I get it...this is what you want?I'll cut it if is ok.

I don't think we can get rid of the black space as the theme just stretches everytime you make the banner wider.

So we will forget about making the banner wider.

However there is a little something else i wanted to try.

It does not incorporate the furher black stripes to the right because the right is filled with a repeating background.

However i think the repeats are dynamically generated based on how much space you have left so if you made http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/5441/banner2s.jpg wider and incorporated the black stripes yourself could look pretty good.

Also on the banner... top left corner is white... could you make it blend so transparent sorta ...

and top right corner that pixel of white make it silver or black or something.

Finally it doesn't seem to transition perfectly. I'm not sure if its the transparency you have used, but there is a visible line.

yea i see what you are saying, i think its because we are suppose to be saving the images as .pngs and not jpegs, i'll give it another shot with black strikes

ok the size now is the original size, i got the black stripes in there, saved as a png

i can imagine there still might be a transparency issue, but photoshop told me that there wasnt any transparency information in the pngs that i got, so the best thing i can do from here was to blend the image thats right on top of the banner with the constant image that goes across the top
