Thread: The Simpsons or The family guy? (Give reasons)

For me is Family Guy now. I watched The Simpsons when I was a kid, but stopped when I was 11 or so. It was relatively family-friendly and I used to watch it with my parents. Family Guy is a completely different ballpark, and it not something I can watch with my parents when I'm at their house. I tried getting my mom to watch it once, but it wasn't her cup of tea. As a previous poster said, the randomness in Family Guy is a tad too much at times. The South Park episode where they lampooned Family Guy was a bit funny to me, as my friends that hate Family Guy had been complaining about many of the jokes having nothing to do with the plot for years.

Family Guy is miles better than The Simpsons. Why? McFarlane's more acid than Groening's (the 20-year run may have something to do with it: the jokes on the latter are way too old now)...

And, come on: you can't even compare Peter and Homer, Stewie and Maggie, or Brian and insert_dog_character_here.

I have to go with Family Guy, Simpsons is past it's best, it started getting dull around about season 11-12.
Family Guy is new and fresh every week and that's why I enjoy it, it keeps me laughing.

Homer is so funny and completely original. Simpsons actually makes sense.
Family guy is the same cookie cutter crap ever episode, and it is way to random.

I voted Family Guy, although the classic Simpsons are the best.

Both are really funny, but I watched more Simpsons and I like it very much so my vote is Simpsons :)
