So you want to do something like Oscars for trackers :)

I would like to see a shortlist of trackers for each category (General, HD, Scene, music etc.) Everybody could rate any number of trackers from the lists, as far as they are members in them. Things that trackers could be rated for are Content, Speed, Community, etc. Proof of membership could be obtained either by i-giver history or by sending direct profile links to stuff (huge privacy issue here, i know).
For example i am a member in 3 trackers and want to vote for all of them. I could vote like this

    TRACKER CONTENT SPEED COMMUNITY INTERFACE
    X 4 3 3 4
    Y 2 5 4 5
    Z 5 4 2 4

If we agree that each of the CONTENT, SPEED, COMMUNITY, INTERFACE etc. counts equally then
    tracker X would get 14 points, tracker Y 16 points, tracker Z 15 points.
Add total points for each tracker and divide them with the number of people voted for and you'll have a very good idea of where each tracker stands in voters mind in terms of content, speed etc.
    I think it's a fair system because:
    1. It doesn't favor trackers with a large userbase
    2. It doesn't favor trackers which are hard to get in
    3. Each voter votes according to their own experience for trackers that he/she already is using

I guess of course that it is much work for something like that to take place but i believe in 'either do it properly or don't do it at all'

Even though I am currently at 33% I voted 55% and over. In fact I would agree with Nequilius that the 99% and over should be the only voters. I'm not interested in finding out what the general populace thinks...I want to know what the experts think. I've seen numerous posts already that admit they thought Demonoid was the cat's meow before getting more involved here. Any many experts saying how disappointing FTN actually is, despite huge desire among newbies to get an invite. Since there are a hell of a lot more newbies than there are 99%s I think there's a good possibility undeserving trackers will get a disproportionate amount of votes and win. In that case the awards would not be really honouring the best, but rather the most popular.
