This is a good summary of "Usage Based Billing":
200GB to 25GB: Canada gets first, bitter dose of metered Internet
Essentially, all DSL resellers now have to increase their prices. Whereas they currently can charge customers 40$/month for unlimited usage (i.e. even 500 GB) they will now need to charge a minimum of 32$ for the first 25GB, then charge per GB above that. So using 150GB to 300GB will now cost almost 100$, and anything over 300GB is 1$ per GB (approx)!
It sucks, cable Internet resellers might also follow the same model. You won't be able to do things like Netflix now without paying extra. Hopefully it gets reversed, lots of Canadians are upset!
Especially those that fileshare! :)
