Default Attention Canadians! Internet About to Drastically Change in Canada

We already pay insane fees for our internet. Our caps our lowered every year and our over usage fees are insane. Well now they are going to raise these prices even more. CRTC has approved metering the internet usage. People will start paying for how much internet they use. Basically we going to pay per gig we use and the internet will become much like internet fees on cell phones. No bandwidthand insane fees. The major corporations Rogers and Bell are behind this, because they want people using cable/satellite again.

Petition: Stop The Meter On Your Internet Use | OpenMedia.ca

We need to stop this. Imagine the internet at your home operating like your cell phone? Could you use Netflix on your cell plan? Play online games? This needs to be stopped.

Wow that is insanely crazy. They are just inviting people to kill them if this continues throughout other countries.

    Wow.

I am glad I am in the United States but I could see big corporations trying to implement this here as well.

This could be the real threat to torrenting.

This would suck biiiiiig time! Hopefully here in Quebec, and specially with Videotron (cable internet) I won't se any change. Still, this is ridiculous beyond measure, even third world countries provider have had un metered internet for years.

I signed the petition and hope this is one of those things that would take care of themselves and disappear... Apparently not. I's unbelievable, how it's legal I don't even know. I guess it means for us Canadians we're going to have to find new providers, or are all of them changing to this 'idea'?

Meh, you guys just need one Canadian ISP to step up and say. NO! I will not do this.
Write letters to your ISP, threatening to leave if they implement it.
    Sign petitions, write your congresspeople.

Well I guess its time to move :(... Were pretty much F'd because there's only two major players in Canada Bell and Rogers they've monopolized the market and were Fd. It would cost way to much money for another company to penetrate the Canadian Market to give Hell and Robbers some competition... but I guess anything is possible WIND mobile did it...
