Default Climate Change: Fact or Fiction?

Below are two articles. The one on the top deals with the issue we are most familiar with, Global Warming, while the one on the bottom deals with the Global Cooling scare of the 70's. Which one, if either do you find more plausible? Where do you stand on the climate change issue?

firstly, I do not believe in global cooling nor global warming. Taking a sample of 150 years out of a possible of 4.5 billion (age of earth) or 2-3 million (typically temperature cycle, i.e.: time between 2 ice ages) years means nothing.

Do I believe in climate change? Yes, actually, regardless if we believe or not, climate is always changing, temperature change in one complete Interglacial period, the ice cap size of south pole changes all the time, also depends on where you are at the Interglacial period. The fact is, it is always changing and there is nothing wrong with it
Do I believe that climate change is caused by human? No, absolutely not, as I mentioned in the previous paragraph, climate change happened long before even human existed. Did human activity accelerate climate change? Perhaps, the sample size we have now is just too small to make any final and formal conclusion, just like what we did 30 years ago with global cooling, when everything sounded so serious which turned out to be nothing more than a joke.
Last but not least, is climate change a good thing a bad thing? For human, perhaps a bad thing. Ice age is tough to live through and the production of food decrease dramatically, a assumption based on our technological achievements. On another aspect, climate change is resulted from our energy source, sun, hence, there is nothing good nor bad from it, if we take out our prospective out from it.

To an extent I agree with the Global Warming theory, but I don't believe it will affect us anytime soon.

In my understanding, global warming and global cooling is the same thing. The climate of the world is heading towards the extremes- really warm in the summer and freezing cold in the winter.

Rather than discussing any scientific evidence, I can refer to personal experience. I live in Texas (the southernmost state in the US) and it snows maybe once every other year. Every decade or so we MIGHT get about 2 inches of snow. In the past three years, it's been snowing each year, more than 2 inches.

But oh well I like snow :D

A very astute point edw with regard to climate change, but I think that I'm going to have to disagree with you about Texas being the southernmost state in the US. Florida is actually the southernmost mainland state, but Hawaii is even quite a lot further south, out in the Pacific. So Hawaii is the southernmost state.

I don't believe in either - the earth is gradually going through a natural evolution

I believe in the facts that show that temperature is increasing every year, and so, yes, I think we can say that there is a "Global Warming" of the planet.

However this warming is related mostly with natural causes. Nevertheless, our government uses everything to try to "steal" money from the people.

EuroV and EuroVI classes of cars are such an example, where the cars that release more CO2 pays higher taxes. But everybody knows that most of CO2 isn't released by cars...
