Windows 7 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Personally I have never had a problem with Vista and I think a lot of people who have had issues with it were using Home Basic, underpowered PC's, didn't really give it a good chance before condemning it etc etc.

Remember back to the release of XP and there was much the same condemnation of it too.

People generally don't like change and Vista was to much of a change for them, it is pretty much the same reaction as when people switch to newer versions of M$ Office too.

yeah its cool but the beta is such an early build that it is hard to see a real difference from vista as of now. i do agree with vidar, vista really isnt that bad. the people who complain have underpowered pc's for what vista requires

I agree with what you guys are saying, and largely, I think it is more the software manufacturers fault for not patching their games/programs to be compatible with vista, although, microsoft didnt make it easy.

Also, wasnt an early build of windows 7 leaked out? I thought i saw a torrent for it a while back...

I have a laptop with vista. It has some nice features, but I prefer XP because I know how to use it more effective. My other 2 computers have XP and my computer at work has XP. I guess once everything changes over then I will have to get to know it. It'll be the same for windows 7. The office pack will change and then everyone will have to get used to the new version.

Windows 7 is much more stable then Vista, and it's still in beta. Unless you're running 4gb ram, stick with XP. TinyXP for example, is probably the best release of XP I have ever used. It uses only 52mb ram on a fresh install.
