    La Haine. There are many other amazing films but this is one I always recommend to ppl who are not into world cinema etc. - it's gripping enough for ppl with a short attention span :) like City of God - but that's famous now

    It is one of the best rated movies on IMDB but I've met very few people that have seen it...so I strongly recommend you The Shawshank redemption
