Alright, I didn't know how to answer this one until just now. I don't think this movie was ever in theaters, but it definitely should have been. The movie is The Brothers Bloom. It has to be the most charming movie I've ever seen, the kind of happiness I got from watching it is just something I can't explain. It was simply the most peculiar, funny, and charming movie I've ever seen.
12 Monkeys is a great underappreciated movie.
Other than 12 Monkeys, I'd probably say Gattaca, not many people have seen it and it's very good.
Pleasantville, as I mentioned in another thread. It is way underrated. I like 12 monkeys too but I think that movie was quite popular.
Troll 2. I'm not kidding. Go in with an open mind. There are some movies that are so epically bad that they become one of the greatest creations of all time.
City of God, a great Brazilian film, had wide international attention ... It shows the reality of the Brazilian population, with their difficulties, and begin to develop the crime in the slums, and little prospect of living in a community that full lives in misery ...
