I'm curious how many invites everyone has received here, and how much you've used the trackers that you've requested invites for. Also, do you have any method of deciding when to ask for an invite, or do you just ask whenever you find a tracker that looks good to you?
I decided a few days ago to try to keep the number of invites I request less than or equal to my Igiver count. Right now, I've received 6 invites, have no pending requests, and have 5 Igivers (4 the people I invited, 1 the person who invited me thanking me), so if I can resist the urge to ask for an invite I don't really want, I won't ask for invites until I've received 2 more Igivers. Also, I'm not going to ask for an invite unless I really want it. I could put in a request for FTN right now (I don't know if I would get it or not, there are many members here more trusted than me), but I don't really want FTN (other than my natural desire to be part of something exclusive, but everyone has that type of desire, and I've been able to subdue it so far). So, even if I manage to get an insane Igiver count, I'm going to try to limit the number of invites I ask for as much as possible. If I have an interest in a tracker, but don't really want it, I'm going to try not to ask for invites. I know that there may be a day when I see the perfect giveaway (aka I fit the requirements perfectly and nobody else posted there) thread for a tracker I only half care about, and end up requesting the invite, but I'm going to try as much as I can not to. If I see a tracker, and after reading the review and other people's comments, decide that I really want it, then I'll try to find an invite.
The one area I cannot help myself in is trackers with open signups - even if I don't care about it at all, I end up signing up. The only problem with that is that it costs one person an account at that tracker, so it's a little selfish in that sense. It also inflates my bookmarks, and I'm probably going to lose a lot of those accounts due to inactivity. (I lost my ITS account that I got through their invite application because I simply didn't care about the tracker enough, and I ended up not using it. I was able to get into SciHD through their app, though, and I don't regret that, but it's one of the only ones that I signed up for through their methods that I ended up liking)
As for the invites I've already received, there are 6:
1 I don't use too much (DtN, but it's very new so I'm going to try to keep my account)
1 I ended up using it much less than I expected to because it wasn't what I expected it to be (My Anonymouse).
3 I like and have used a lot (Bit Gamer, PWN Network, and SCC) (SCC was what I received the 'thanks' Igiver for) (I love all 3 of them. SCC is awesome, I suggest finding an invite for it if you haven't already. Bit Gamer and PWN Network are both good, and when I lose my account on BCG due to inactivity (I'm going to try not to , but it's probably inevitable), they will work well to replace it)
1 I haven't really had time to look at yet (TL), but I can see that ratio won't be a problem there because I can cross seed from SCC, and SCC has freeleech sections so ratio isn't too much of a problem there.
So, this ended up being a very long post. The basic questions for you are: How many invites have you received? How do you decide when to request an invite? Do you sign up/apply for trackers with open signups/applications, even if you don't really care about the tracker? And how do you like/how often do you use the trackers that you have requested an invite for from here?
