Thread: Do you know what a permalink is?

A permalink, or permanent link, is a url that points to a specific post on a forum entry after it has passed from the front page to the archives.

Everyone has seen it but not everyone knows what it is or how it could be useful to you. Here's two such examples:

• If you want to link someone to a specific post in a thread with numerous pages.
• For the iGiver url

Just click right click on the (permalink) and 'copy link location.' This is especially helpful for when members want to browse iGiver history. Most will post the GA url but after you click it now you have to find the post where that user actually applied and got the invite. It could be on page 7 of a 10 page GA.

i usually went on the number, right clicked it and chose the "copy link location". it's the same thing. i agree though, people rarely use it.

Yeah, that works too. Only difference is it links you to the post and that post only (single post view).
