i heard rumers about bioshock movie coming and i would like halo and dead or alive extreme 2 (lol the understander will understand)
As is already pointed out, the movies that have been released thus far have not been up to par with the masses' expectations. One reason for this is that the people who work on the movies, simply are not acquainted with the game worlds and their characters, so they resort to known and tried methods, resulting in them filling the movies with clichés such as new, stereotypical characters not known to the game worlds in question. Another reason for movies failing, is Uwe Boll, as someone already said. None of his movies were spot-on accurate, and neither were they any good, so try convincing me that Far Cry will be able to change that.
Unlike Boll's movies, other productions have been somewhat satisfying. Both Doom and Hitman were, quite surprisingly, better than I had thought. Of course, Doom can be said to have been a total flop, but all in all, it met some of my expectations, though not all. For instance, hell was not present in the movie, and was instead replaced by a virus. On the contrary to popular belief, I welcome this development. Not to go into any in-depth details, I can only say that one of the books based on the world from the first games, features a fight between the main character and Sarge similar to the ending in the movie, leading me to believe that Doom was meant to be a trilogy with the first movie preparing the audience for the sequels. On the same note, I have heard that Doom actually was meant to have one or more follow-ups if the first movie was positively received. That does not seem to be the case now in hindsight, though. Concerning the actors and their acting, the acting could see some improvement, but the casting of the main character, Karl Urban, could not have been done better. He portrays the small portrait from the original Doom-games almost with supreme accuracy. On the other hand, seeing as the movie was inspired by Doom 3, I think that they should have given the casting of the role of Sarge another thought. The Rock does not stand for quality, so the role would go to Clint Eastwood if I had the chance to speak out.
While Doom lacked in some details, Hitman was a better adaptation. As a fan of the series, I had high expectations when the movie arrived. In short, the only thing that I would prefer to have changed, is the actor for the lead role. Vinnie Jones would be a better choice for Agent 47 than Timothy Olyphant.
Some of the movies already mentioned as expected games to turn into movies, I can say that Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Half-Life, Warcraft, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Kane & Lynch and Pacman will come your way eventually. I know this thanks to IGN's Games to Film section. Go there to find out more about upcoming game-to-film adaptations.

I personally long to see Alice, Broken Sword, Citizen Siege, Deus Ex and Duke Nukem: The Movie to show up on the big screen. Alice is based on American McGee's Alice, and Citizen Siege is based on the games in the Oddworld universe featuring Abe as the main character, for those who are not familiar with these games. Also, as unbelievable as it sounds, The Sims is among the many others to make the leap to the silver screen.
