PS3 Game Torrents
I'm really curious to know more about these. I have several questions:
1. What is the quality like?
2. What type of file do they come in and how do you play them?
3. What private trackers have the best selection?
From the little I've read it seems like these torrents were pretty much useless until recently with the ps3 jailbreak, is that true? Does the PS3 have to be jailbroken to play any of the games?

Yes, to play any kind of 'backup' then you're going to need to jailbreak the PS3. When it comes to quality, they are a backup of the full game, and therefore you experience should be equal to that of playing the full, shop purchased game, although it is not recommended to try to play online with a jailbroken PS3. I have no idea about file type, or how to play there, but hopefully somebody else will be able to help you out with that information.
Both torrentleech and revolutionTT has ps3 releases.
They are direct dumps of the game disc/file structure. They come in a folder with the game contents ie. BLUS-30567/PS3_GAME...
To play them you will need a jailbroken ps3 with a backup manager installed. I recommend Open Manager 1.17.2 from here. You can ftp the games onto your ps3 or play them off an external hd. Theres more to it but I won't go into detail yet.
The trackers with the most releases right now are BCG, BG, TL and GFT.
The games released prior to the psjb were and are useless for two reasons, 1) there was no way to play them 2) they weren't dumped properly.
Since when can you play burned PS3 games? Does it actually work?
well you cant play burned games you just load them off the internal hard drive or external storage.
The jailbreak allows you to run unsigned code - backup manager. You use BM to mount the games which you can then launch from the xmb like an original game.
PSjailbreak was announced late august and PSgroove, the open source alternative, was available since early sept.
Did sony patch it yet? If they did that sucks, I heard you can't go on PSN unless you keep your ps3 up to date.
Yeah they patched the exploit in fw 3.42 and you're right you need latest firmware to access PSN.
SCC has PS3 free leech game packs now, really tempted to mod my PS3 now.

Have just search BCG with ps3 checked, and it has 585 items at the moment.
But i like your thread Adolphus, and didnt self have complete knowledge if i could use all these games for my ps3 or what it exactly will take or i haved to make a bigger operation or trick or treat to get them to work.
Have just gone on every time if see a PS3 games with the presumption it wasnt the bother worth.
also have Xbox 360 and WI (big version x2 and limited edittion black´ bad recent buy, almost didnt use it at all, and dont have any future at all, because it so limited in specs.)
But can Xbox360 be knocked up thrue only software, so it can play backup games. ?
