OK, two standard deviations above the mean for beauty is setting standards way too high. I don't see the point of even looking if you're that picky. One std. dev at least gives him a chance, and just saying above the mean gives him a much larger chance.
He will never have a GF because he has unrealistic expectations.
I have thought of it in a similar perspective before and it is all too funny. When I meet a nice girl I stop picking away at it anymore and realize I am not perfect and neither will the girl be. All that matters is that I have a good time with that person and they do not practice destructive behavior. Sometimes they aren't the brightest or the prettiest, but if we looked for that we have this article to remind us of reality.
Good read in the mid morning for those who have a hard time sleeping like myself.
