Post your desktop and possibly explain your specs and why you are using what you have set up =)



I can use Windows 7 Aero, but prefer not to because it uses more resources. I don't use an Anti-virus because it also takes up resources and anyway I have Malwarebytes to run scans and can always use a system restore if necessary. This laptop has a nice 1gb video card for playing games and I prefer simple over beautiful on my computers screen because again it takes resources to produce all of that fancy stuff and to me I'm not trying to impress anyone that is looking at my computer

The above desktop is nasty.

Ubuntu Lucid using LXDE.
It's very simple and lightweight. I will be installing LUbuntu when Maverick is out. I heard it only uses 30MB for memory.
