Thread: how to use seed boxes

I have just recently received a package for a seedbox spot still awaiting confirmation from seedmonster i have never used one before any feedback on information or how to use would be appreciated.

its easy all you have to do is find the torrent you want to download save the torrent file to lets say your desktop(instead of opening it with your torrent client) then in your rutorrent there is an add torrent button in the upper left hand corner click that and browse for the file you saved and add thats it as far as downloading if you want to upload you will need something like filezilla to transfer the torrent to your box.what i like about seedmonster is they offer http so you can download files from your box to PC through your browser i use download them all add on for Firefox and almost always get my max download speed.they have good support and there is a mod on here thats a good guy he helped me out MikeD he works for seedmonster im sure if you had any problems,or questions he would help you out.

dont be nervous .seedbox is easy to use its just like you add and delete torrents in utorrent ......Best of luck with your seedbox

If you are using FireFox then there is a very useful add-on for rtorrent. It is called "ruTorrent WebUI". With this add-on you can send .torrent files directly to your seedbox instead of downloading .torrent files to your home PC and only then open it in your rTorrent. Great feature. You should try this out.
Also you don't have to keep rTorrent web gui opened all the time. Open it only when you want to check your stats, etc.

I've just started using my first box, and I have to say it is easy as pie.

As well as the advice given above, it is also really easy to cross seed across various torrent sites. Simply download the (identical) torrent to your box, and then download the .torrent file of the site you want to cross-seed on. ruTorrent will simply check the file on your box and then start cross-seeding.

Remember that a lot of private trackers require you to note your seedbox provider and seedbox ip, so be careful to check that out.

I have been wary of seedboxes but they do sound pretty easy. I have a decent connection at home but its always nice to have access to another high speed box in another location. Thanks for the thread.
