What are members' opinions of e-Mule?

I'd like to stay away from apps like that. It's very easy to share virus. Plus it's full of spam unless you apply some filtering. It's not moderated unlike private trackers. Moderation = Clean environment.

I'm a member of a niche emule private tracker. And it's the place where I can find those rare hard to find stuff

you can go to verycd.com. It's good place to search stuff in emule and it is virus-free

I used in the past...

But nowadays is not growing anymore.
Torrent become more fast , stable and more users..

But you can find sometimes something usefull...(old files)

I used it until rapidshare and other similar free file hosting servers and forums have evolved. but nowadays as it was said in previous posts there is a lot of crap there. nonetheless I sometimes use it, especially for downloading some house tracks ;) I liked emule and still like - it was a part of me for a very long time ;)

The main disadvantage i found at eMule is the time you usually have to wait when you grab something. Not only because of the low speeds but mainly because it takes much time to start downloading something (in most of the times).
Another thing i dislike there, is the amount of garbage it has. When you do a search, a big percentage of what it shows on the list will be corrupted files, virus, etc...

But i wouldn't say everything is bad there. Actually it is an app that i still have on my PCs and, like other members said, it can be useful sometimes. When you need something you can't find in your trackers, it can be an alternative.

But with the quick growing of the torrent community, it has obviously lost popularity...

I don't like emule at all... I've downloaded it and used it for a while. Not worthy 2/5
