I can't think of any great documentarys off the top of my head but I can tell u what documentaries are crap and to stay away from. Anything done by Michael Moore. Socialist.

If you have kids check out "Nursery University" - it's about what parents are willing to do to get their kids into "high quality" day care.

Not exactly on topic, but almost all of the 30 for 30 documentaries on ESPN have been entertaining.

I am assumming many of you have watched it already but I highly recommend The King of Kong.

and the best ever..."Frat House" (although that one is difficult to find - I think google actually has it if you do a search)

Netflix instant watch is a great source for good documentaries as well.

I'm ashamed that no one has brought up Ken Burns yet

Agreed about Ken burns! Although you forgot to include his documentary on Jefferson and Lewis and Clark. Both are really outstanding documentaries. I'm ashamed I didn't include him!
