You should also check out PS3 java media server: PS3 Media Server

It's as easy as installing it on your pc, selecting a directory, running the program and when you turn on your ps3 the files are there waiting to be watched. It's so ridiculously easy without needing extra hard drives, usb/flash drives, etc.

Thanks for wanting to help : ). Yeah, I have it, but my router is always pretty overloaded and when I stream HD to my PS3 the video keeps freezing. That's why I was looking for other options ;).

I agree. I used to stream media from my laptop to my PS3 using TVersity and it would just freeze and freeze, and seeking through the media was just a hassle. If you have the money, go with an external hard drive, I guarantee you'll be happier in the long run.

I usually use WMP and stream it for regular dvd movies, and it works great.

For HD movies I use the copy option on the ps3 to copy it form my computer to ps3 and then watch it directly off the hard drive, it works great! It takes a bit of time to copy the movie over the wire but it works

To copy the file, you need to go to videos and connect to your WMP player desktop.

Once there you will see a list of videos that are on your desktop ready to be streamed, for windows 7 which is what I use, it is in my public video folder.

Then on the controller instead of hitting X to play it, hit the button O if i recall and it should give you a lit of options one is to copy file from pc to ps3 hard drive

I hope that helps if you need more help let me know and I will gladly help out.
