Thread: Google Maps!

Hey guys. I guess Im going to turn this into post your google map of where you live. I think this is going to be an interesting thread. Well here it goes. If people think Im lying, I do live in hawaii, and those are my cars. The red and the blue one! Not sure how Google Maps got this high res pic, but I sure didn't take it. Got a good background of the valley I live in too. I hope you guys enjoy.



P.S. Anybody know how google maps work? How is this picture taken from a satellite at this angle. I mean, satellite will take pics from the aerial view right. This is practically facing my cars. Not going to tell you my house, but I want to show you guys this pic. This is by the way like almost 2 years old or so..

P.S.S : I really want to know your comments, but honestly I want a google maps pic of your guys place too. I dont want this a spam thread. Good Luck Guys! Google Maps Awesome!

I'm not going to show you guys where I live, but, for those of you who use Firefox (or anything that supports keywords), you can normally right-click a search box and select "Add a keyword for this search". For instance, if you did it for google, and picked "g" as the keyword, you could type in "g whatever" in your address bar and hit enter, and it'd search google for "whatever". This goes for Wikipedia, and just about anything else, as well.

For some reason, this does not seem to work for Google Maps. I can't remember what the trick was, but, the one I use is:

for the URI, and "gm" (without the quotes) for the keyword. So, I can just type in "gm from Los Angeles, CA to New York, NY" (again, without the quotes), and Google Map something instantly. After you do that, you can then screenshot it and paste it or whatever. XD

Your pic must be from google street view (thats where they drive around taking pictures/filming). I don't think they can get that kind of angle and resolution from a satellite.

My pic res isn't as great as yours but here's mine:

Awesome, like the looks of your house. I've been trying to get something similar for a while, but it's hard around here.
