Thread: Is it really necessary to be a member of multiple private trackers?

Here's a question...how many private tracker memberships is enough?

I'm only a member of 2 because I'm more interested in specific types of e-learning (home study courses, business, stock photos, stock video, and broad information.)

Yet I see some are members of multiple trackers...is that a plus? Or would it be better to be a member of only a few trackers with a good ratio so you're focused on those trackers instead of dividing your attention among 5-8?

Would it be a benefit to be a member of multiple trackers when asking for an invite to a specific tracker?

Of course not, you just have to choose the one or two (or three) that suit your needs.

A lot of people like to have a bunch of trackers either for trading reasons, or they are collectors, and try to belong to as many as possible.

I think for many people, they have 3 or 4 solid trackers that they use, and any extra is just a waste or they were using them before, until they signed up for a better tracker.

The only benefit to having multiple trackers, is having multiple ratios to post as proofs. For many give aways, the person giving usually asks for 3 good ratios from good trackers if they are giving away a relatively high level tracker.

there are different type of trackers for music games software movies etc. ... my advice you should register to leading sites of those types but to that you should start from level 1 ... you cant run before walking ;)

One torrent site rarely has everything. I use SCC for tveps, BCG for games, and TL for any apps, movies, etc. So do you need more than three? Probably not. You could theoretically get everything from pirate bay or mininova, but the speeds might be slow or you might have a hard time finding seeds. Is it necessary to have access to a bunch of private torrent sites? No, but you have a higher probability of finding what want/need.

many trackers of the same kind is a headache... like am having trouble handling iptorrents, revtt and TL simultaneously...

It depends on the person and what their interests are. You could easily have fifty sites if you were into HD, music, sports, poker, magic, music vids, uk tv, us tv, your own countries tv, pron, rare movies, mma etc and wanted three trackers for each thing.

I have about twenty sites I use enough to have uploaded at least a few hundred gb and I also keep some sites I dont really use to generate invites: THC, x264, Bit-HDtv, RMVB, m-v and SCC for example. You also dont really want to let go of your old favourites when you get a new tracker (especially if you have uploaded a lot!).

What works for you only you can decide. If your upload and download can keep you active on fifty trackers then good luck to you!

I'm in total accord with you. Same reasons I have multiple sites I belong to.

I don't think that somebody needs multiple trackers(like 5+), I agree that is useful use one to apps, other to games... just don't need to collect lots of them
