Default MoneyPak/PayPal/Gift Cards and other questions?

ok, so i don't want to use a real credit card because that would be giving to much information about me and there is many scams out there who sell your information or just take your money and then run away.

i found out about green dot gift credit cards and MoneyPak and that seems to be a lot safer way to pay for stuff than anything else. i already used a gift card to buy something, but i spent it and i can't find the same card to buy. i can only find green dot cards and MoneyPak's.

my questions would be how can i connect those gift cards and transfer the money to paypal? i already tried with one, but money is not getting transferred for some reason.

how exactly does the MoneyPak work? does it work with all the countries and sites or just with ebay and select few sites?

should these gift cards work with all the countries or do the some of them block them?

i think that those are all the questions for now, but i always come up with new ones so be ready.

i would like to hear about your experiences and how you use these gift cards and moneypaks.

thanks to anyone that helps or tries to help.

EDIT: would really like to donate to T-I, but these cards don't seem to work. it says denied or something like that. can you help me with that as well because i would love to donate and help out this great community.

Don't buy those, you get charged an insane amount of fees. What you do is go get a Visa, MasterCard, or AmEX $50 gift card, and add that to your PayPal as you would a credit card. it WILL go through, but the balance will not appear in your account. instead, it will let you choose that as an option to pay when u donate to a tracker. that way, all they get is your name and email. please let me know if this helps. :) - this is what i did :D

to late man. i already bought them. not the moneypak, but a gift credit card. i wish that i posted here before, but i still need a way how to connect these to paypal and how to spend them. fee is $5.

where do i get the cards that you mentioned? walmart or walgreens or somewhere else? i just hope that it is not online because that is why i get these in the first place.

i would use this to donate to T-I, maybe buy some stuff, and most importantly purchase seedboxes.

    thanks for helping GiGa.

tbh I get them at Ralphs. Idk where you live but they're buyable, they DO carry a $5 fee but just get a $100 one if you can and it should be fine. :)

i don't think there is ralphs nearby me, but is that the same thing as Kroger or something.

anyway you said i should just get visa or master card, but green dot offers visa and master card. in fact i have a visa one about 5 inches away from me right now.

are those cards that you buy somewhat specific? i mean what is different from the visa you are talking about comparing to the visa i have at the moment? if it is different an online link would be great so i can see the appearance and or sellers. can i get those for example at Walmart?

Be careful when using MC/Amex/Visa gift cards. I think Visa and MC work better than Amex. The problem is sometimes paypal will try to verify the card against your address in paypal. Since the giftcard is prepaid, it won't have an address registered to it. Sometimes they will let you call in and register one. I recently used an Amex on paypal and it took 3 days to add. Paypal charges $1.95 on the card, and then you have to keep checking it to get the 4 digits to put in to verify it. I've heard of some cards just working right away though. You should read the terms of the card, I think Visa makes an all-access gift card that will work on paypal.

The moneypak one is a refillable one, but from what I know, you do pay monthly fees. The cool thing about a gift card (and I would suggest a visa one, the amex ones DO try to sometimes confirm as the poster above me stated) is that each time you buy one, you only pay $5, it never charges you fees after that, and you get a new number every time you buy, so if something goes wrong you're not in the shit. With the moneypak you can't just change your number, I thought - because it's linked to all your information.

it is good to know that at least someone has had some good experiences with moneypaks. that makes me more relaxed so i can purchase one and use it. i hope that it would really work with everything.

the one visa that i have asks you to put in your info online which includes the email address so when they check the email it should work fine i guess. and that $2 fee is very special to say because sometimes i don't even get the code and then i have problems and i need to get another one sent to me.

where do you buy your cards?

you can also use moneypaks to refill gift cards from my knowledge and the monthly fee is $5 i think. not really sure because i only took a small look at the moneypaks where i bought my gift credit card. as for the visa i think that they charge you $5 to buy it and $5 every month after that unless you have 30 purchases or put like $500 or something like that which is a lot.

when you buy those moneypaks do they call you to check and or verify your information. what stops you from just putting in some random info?

most importantly can i get the gift cards that you are using at walmart or other common stores?
