Slightly on topic. PayPal offers a physical debit card that is linked to your PayPal account. My experience with it is that if you do not have enough money in the account it will come up declined when used. I use that card a lot for online purchases since I buy and sell things online a good bit and use PayPal for the transactions. They also offer a virtual credit card. This is an add on for your browser that will generate a credit card number and allow you to input that information online. They have two options with it, a one time use and a continual use. I am not a fan of this option as it does not seem to work very well. I use to create one time use cards all the time, before they came out with the debit card, and they were never one time use.
I had used them on a few sites that needed "verification" or it was for a trial period where they charge the card $1.00 and then you cancel the account before you are charged full price. Well I have had issues where the credit card number was continually used and charged despite being a one time use number. To me, one time use should mean just that. Not that it can only be used for one merchant or however it was actually being used.
