Default Are media companies taking over the US?

First of all, I'd like to mention that I'm not a US citizen, but I feel that this may concern any p2p user in the world.
I just noticed who is running alongside Barack Obama as candidate for vice president: That's Senator Joe Biden - who is a known RIAA / MPAA lobbist! (proof).
This man has already acted numerous times against p2p users, so I don't want to think what he'll do as vice president, or even more, what he'll do in case Obama is no longer capable of filling his duties and he becomes president.

How the h**l did we reach a situation in which large media corporations have control over the government and when / how do you think this will end?

lol. American government is half run by the people and the other half by corporations. I live in the united states, and there is a bunch of advertising, but to say they run everything? I think that's a little harsh. They may own a lot and try to rule, but overall the consumers rule. This will be seen in the next few years with our recession. I think the alternative McCain/Palin is a joke. Palin alone has done some questionable acts, such as abusing the power of her office and violating ethics law by pushing for the firing of her former brother-in-law as an Alaskan state trooper. Also a few other questionable things. The real problem is with the Senate, and the House of Rep. not so much just the president. But I think people overlook that fact. Just IMO, I know politics can get heated at times so don't take it too seriously

I truly hope you're right but having a friend of the media corporations as president or vice president can't be beneficial to p2p users.

Yes and no. Take for example tobacco companies. They are very rich, yet have nothing but problems from the government. There are so many people against them that their users on the decline. Or at least, in America, that's how it is.

Well, let's put it this way. Companies run America, infact they run any capitalist society. So the question is, which one owns the US. The financial sector makes up 41% of the American economy. So no, they are not "taking over"..they are just funding politicians to support their side, which is always to make more money.

This is the problem with the Capitalist system, it runs on greed. Free markets are fine, but it's all about greed and taking money from labor. The labor price = The price of goods. The lower the price of a good, the lower price labor is being paid.
