Thread: Ratio.. Change it from DL/UP to DL/Time seeding

So, I've just recently gotten involved with private trackers and the whole ratio system, its so hard to move that up, even if I want to.. it's just not working too well, there's way too many seeders, so few leechers. I think there should be either a new system or a modification at least. I propose one:



Maybe instead of amount dl'ed/up'ld there should be dl'ed(amount)/time seeding. Make an hour of seeding equivalent to maybe 10MB or 20MB, who knows.. let the community determine the value of time.

hehe that is not bad idea actually but the ratio way has its advantages like if u have 1:1 ratio u can stop seeding if there r more seeders than leechers. depends on tracker :) so there r some good sides and bad sides. bad sides r that is is hard to maintain that ratio, and u can't download what u want at any time if u don't have good ratio before

It seems to be good but there's a lot of points to consider and i'm not capable to describe all of them but i'll try some: When you agree with the communities rules you are downloading mainly to share with everyone, you take one and give one, that's what ratio 1:1 means.
Just considering and talking about this first one, i suppose that there's bonus points given to the time spent uploading on most private trackers awarding people who cares with other members. So maybe i don't understand what you mean exactly and would be good to keep this comments on.

Many trackers actually do this by giving you a small seed bonus for every hour you're seeding (even if nobody actually leeches) that you can convert to upload credit if you want.
