I would talk to him. Regardless of the outcome though I would not rat him out. Obviously know of us know how he will react to a heart to heart chat.

For me though it would be peace of mind so to say. Heck who knows this may be what he needs to change his ways.

I would give a heart to heart conversation with him? i mean that he is you friend from a personal life, not inernet life. So personal life comes first then internet life. Tell him about the warnings? And let him know, bcuz moderators at private torrent sites are smart about this?

I would talk him out of it first, but if he was not a friend in real life I may also report him. (ratio cheating is bad!)

i think bottom line is that a real-life friendship is more valuable than p2p integrity, however i would warn him that he will get caught sooner or later. cheaters always get caught, the scripts trackers come up with are quite advanced. apart from that, i wouldnt do anything to jeapordize my real-life friendship with anyone.
If i get into trouble and end up in jail or something, who's gonna bail me out? the tracker sysops?
I'm not condoning cheating at all, and as a friend you should warn him that he will get caught eventually and it will jeapordize his entire invite tree, buts that probably as far as i would go and let the chips fall where they may.

Like most people said; talk to him to explain what he's doing wrong. Allthough i think a good tracker will catch ratio cheaters very fast, so i find it a weird thing he's been cheating for some time now...

have a heart to heart with the person and explain his short comings to the person as a friend, and try to make that person understand how his cheating under minds what is trying to be accomplished by the torrent community if all the above-mentioned fails get the person's acct banned
