Thread: What would you do? Ratio Cheating...

I'd just talk to him about it directly, tell him that I think it's uncool (and why), that he won't be receiving any invites from me and that it's highly likely he'll get banned (and anybody he's related to aswell). Other than that I wouldn't rat him out. I would condone it, it's really none of my business how he handles his downloads. If he was on eMule I would explain to him why it's stupid, but I wouldn't go over there and uninstall the programm...

I agree. Some words of my own. It isn't the end of the world of course. But it's pretty fucking lame. I had a very good friend, we started talking about torrents and such. He said how he would hit and run on open trackers, but not a private tracker that he was apart of. "I hate people like you", I said. But I mean nothing was heated over it.

I would tell them off, and if they kept doing it, send a discrete message to mods and tell them just to warn him/her.

If his actions could affect your account and get you banned, maybe because you invited him, or he invited you, I'd report him if it was a great site I didn't want to lose.

Otherwise, I'd have a talk with him and try to convince him to share torrents rather than cheating the community.

I would talk to him about it, and if that didn't change anything, depending on what mood I was in, I would either do nothing, or report it. I would report it, more likely than not, because it would teach him a good lesson, and in the end, it would be better for the friend.

Absolutely I will tell the staff and say sorry to then. When I invite a friend to any tracker, I always say the advices(take care the account, not sharing etc). So, no conversation with my invited friend =)

Depends how close a friend! Report him if not so close, or smack him upside the head and talk to him if he's a close friend. Great discussion though!

Sooner or later he's gonna get caught! Just don't get pinned with him!
