Default Do you cook? What's your favorite recipe?

I learned how to cook a little bit from Jamie Oliver... the chef from UK or whatever. He had that famous show The Naked Chef years back. He has quite a bit of shows now. I watched the entire two seasons ofJamie at Home.

I learned quite a bit from those two seasons, on how to make simple recipes and dishes. Now, you must understand, I didn't know how to cook a single dish before, it was all about microwaved meals and food made by my mom so a little bit of knowledge in cooking was even enough to make me happy.

I'm still looking for cooking shows or cookbooks that gives me simple recipes that make really great food. I like all foods in all countries, so it doesn't matter what cookbook or TV shows, programs, educational softwares you reccomend that I get, even games... lol

    Thanks!

Oh, I just love cooking as it's so calming.

My favorite would absolutely have to be making a braised lamb with a red wine sauce.

Best part is that it can go with anything, is very easy to make and it makes a great impression.

I like to bake stuff around the holidays, and occasionally make my mom's black bean soup recipe

I love to cook. For shows, I've found Alton Brown's show Good Eats is very good, and SUPER informative. Generally pretty accurate too, I brew beer and watched his brewing episode with a VERY skeptical eye, and only had a couple qualms over terminology. So, my favorite meals to cook... Oh jeez. I like it all. A couple weeks ago I made some steamed mussels w/ a wine sauce tossed over pasta, last night was a curry chicken salad sandwich with a side of cous cous (cooked in chicken stock. Seriously, I'm never using water for grains again... unless of course I dont have any stock), baby back ribs and mashed potatoes a couple nights ago.. Two things that my girlfriend considers my "signature" dishes: Chicken with a grapefruit glaze. Usually serve it with jasmine rice. The other is my beer marinated burgers, which I spice with garlic, onion, black pepper and curry powder. I usually serve this with a side of homemade oven baked french fries.
