Default Best Twist Ending to a Movie?

I love films with a good twist ending--one that makes sense in the context of the entire film and doesn't serve as an illogical repudiation of what transpired prior to the swerve. My top three choices for great twist endings are:

    1. The Usual Suspects (1995). Really well done--the final montage was brillant.

    2. Memento (2000). Cool interspersing of the b&w and color scenes and use of chronological tricks. Ending was quite shocking to me, and showed that Christopher Nolan was a director who was going places.

    3. The Prestige (2006). Not as celebrated as the first two, but a well done film that deserves a bigger audience. Neat reveal at the end.

Feel free to contribute your favorite films with twist endings here!

    1. Fight Club - Definitely my favorite twist ending. The first time I saw that movie way back I knew nothing about it.

    2. Vanilla Sky - Really good movie with a great ending (even if your not a Tom Cruise fan)

I'm glad you mentioned Memento. :] The whole plot is amazing! Great movie with a great ending.

I second Fight Club as well, it's brilliant.

Vanilla Sky had an awesome twist at the end. I don't want to give anything away to people who haven't seen it. But I couldn't believe it when the ending hit O_O

The first time I watched "From Dusk Till Dawn" I was blewn away by the twist at the end. I didn't know anything about Tarantinos sick humor until then, and thought I was watching a classic hostage-movie-plot unfold. But that made a sudden change for sure at the end...

Oldboy, hands-down. The Usual Suspects would be my next favorite though. Both are excellent movies even without the twist endings.
