gmail definitely, nicer cleaner layout than hotmail
    extremely fast
    allows imap and pop

and the best thing is, if u have other email accounts with another email provider, u dont have to shut it down, u can get gmail to just retrieve emails from that account too, so u'd only have to log into one email site

its a bit like those consolidate ur debt stuff...except for emails

actually thats the 2nd best feature...the best feature of gmail is that continuously increasing 7/8GB of free storage it gives you...a few yrs ago it was only 2gb...now its over 7gb because it keeps increasing every day :)

also hotmail expires after like 60days if u dont login, whereas, gmails time period is 1 yr! it is the most annoying thing having to reactivate my hotmail accounts just because i didnt log in cos i use hotmail as my 2nd email...

    Gmail is very-very good.
Hotmail is not bad, but they decreased their storage from 5 gb to 2 gb. Very said...

I've used a lot of "free" mail accounts. GMail seems to be the best. I believe it has the least amount of advertisements.
