It was a no from me as I don't believe this kind of stuff and whenever anyone tells me anything about it I go along with him and when he walks away I start laughing and once my friend told me about it and only 30% of man kind will live and it will happen due to another planet hitting the earth so it all makes me laugh

i think that the traditional view of 2012 being "the apocalypse" is rubbish, but that doesn't mean 2012 doesn't concern me.

let me explain. there are hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of people who strongly believe that the world will come to an end on that particular day in 2012. now, if you knew (or thought you knew) that everyone would die the following day, or the following month, would you go to work? would you keep that $50k in a saving account, or would you go out and waste it all on rubbish? in short, with large numbers of people not turning up for work, and suddenly spending large amounts on rubbish, the economy could collapse like never before.

in addition, what about potential criminals? will they still hold back from committing crimes, whether it be theft or something violent, if they believe the world will end? we could see large cities turn into virtually lawless states. going back to the point about people not turning up for work - what if large numbers of policemen, fire service, doctors etc don't turn up? the results could be catastrophic.

maybe i overthink things, but these are my concerns.

    Fiction.
What we should really worry about is this:

99942 Apophis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

99942 Apophis is a near-Earth asteroid that caused a brief period of concern in December 2004 because initial observations indicated a small probability (up to 2.7%) that it would strike the Earth in 2029. Additional observations provided improved predictions that eliminated the possibility of an impact on Earth or the Moon in 2029. However, a possibility remained that during the 2029 close encounter with Earth, Apophis would pass through a gravitational keyhole, a precise region in space no more than about 600 meters across, that would set up a future impact on April 13, 2036. This possibility kept the asteroid at Level 1 on the Torino impact hazard scale until August 2006, when the probability that Apophis will pass through the keyhole was determined to be very small. Apophis broke the record for the highest level on the Torino Scale, being, for only a short time, a level 4, before it was lowered. Its diameter is approximately 270 meters (885 ft).

The current estimate places the probability of it hitting at 1 in 250,000, but take this from someone studying astrophysics. In astronomical terms that is an extremely high probability.

Just ask yourself this question: how would they know if something was going to happen?

They were just men, and nobody can predict what's going to happen.

Nostradamus predicted a lot of catastrophic things would happen and did they "they sure did"

Also he predicted a big catastrophy would happen on 2012 he said it would be nation wide, now does that worry me a little sue does. Also i watch the show "the universe" have anyone seen that show? I said there an a few of them that on 2012 would be the first time that the sun the earth and a huge black hole will be aligned causing all sorts of chaos that could change the world.

But look like i said i still stand by my word and be-leave nothing will happen (im hoping)

lets not think about 2012, more you think more you worry, rather be happy and
    don't worry.
