BitMeTV sent out a mass PM to all members about massive amounts of Account Theft and Ratio Cheating. But the PM was more towards the romanians and Romania in general. Heres the PM:

"For some time now we have been flooded with account stealing and ratio cheating largely from Romania. Most of Romania have fiber connections, so we do not understand why the rule breaking has been so MASSIVE from this country. Sure there are also some great Romanian members but the amount of account theft and cheating going on is far outweighing the good members. THIS IS A WARNING. This needs to STOP or we will have to take further action on a more global scale."

I guess what the operators are talking about when they say "Global Scale", it means they are thinking of banning all Romanian IP Addresses, which means banning the entire country. If u can remeber this has happened before with other top level trackers *cough* Waffles. So what does that mean for the respected members of the romanian country who are good members of the tracker? Will that mean they'll have to suffer like the rest of the cheaters? Only time will tell. I'd like to here how eveyone feels bout this, especially if u live in romania!

Yeah i just read the announcement. Personally, i dont think it is appropriate to ban entire ip ranges from countries, because of a couple of cheaters. Being banned from scc, i know how it feels. But if, say, more than half of the people from a particular ip range are cheaters and scammers, i wouldnt really blame the tracker if they decided to ban the whole range. I mean, they are doing us a service by allowing us use to their tracker, and we really have no say in who they should, or should not allow to use it. They would probably be justified in doing it.

I really like bitemetv...it's a shame a few rotten apples can spoil a whole barrel. I'm with you ScoobyDoo, using these trackers is a great service and, may I add, a privilege. Cheaters make it harder for everyone in the long run but the trackers have to protect themselves too.

The problem is that it isn't just a few bad apples spoiling it for everyone else. The analogy is more like a whole barrelful of rotten apples spoiling it for the few good apples in the same barrel. It's a shame for the few honest people; I hope that they come up with a way of allowing good Romanians to keep their accounts but I'm not holding my breath on it.

Added: I realize this is incendiary and I apologize. Nor is the problem isolated to .ro by any means.

It's true, I dont like it but they don't have to do anything they don't want to.
    They're not a business.
If 75% of romanians end up getting banned due to misuse while every other country has its fair share of good and bad users, then it's not outside of their scope to ban romania.

its a shame that so many users rather attempt to cheat that they are even considering banning a country, but they must protect the community as a whole. Maybe eliminate a few ISP's will cut back on the cheaters access

its not very proud for any country to get banned... but ive heard that ratio cheater softwares work great on bitmetv... now what bitmetv should do is put in scripts that finds these cheaters and ban the accounts.... for instance i dont think for websites like Bit-HDTV, HD-T or AHD etc you can use these ratio cheaters... they must have scripts to detect them but ive heard about alot of people who use such softwares at bitmetv to boost their ratios on the website and i think it totally destroys the concept of private trackers....

Romanians might have a huge majority of these cheaters that they are actually thinking of banning the entire country.

Wait are there any specific reasons why Romania has become the hotbed of private tracker shenanigans? This is kinda like Nigeria and those Nigerian scam emails.

I don't understand the reason for cheating and account thefts? Why can't they just keep a good seed ratio and download whatever they want. Especially if most of them have fiber connections anyway.. Are they doing it just to show that can?

Cheating easier; you seed until your cheating client shows a 1:1 ratio.
