only the shadow knows the evil in the heart of men
I don't see any use of .flac files, at least not for me. I tried downloading a few files a while ago, and I couldn't even import it to iTunes. If I can't use it in iTunes nor on my iPhone, then what do I need them for? Perhaps someone needs to educate me a little, but I have no need for lossless audio files when I can't even listen to them:P

I download MP3, don't have a harddrive big enough to have an entire music collection of FLACs with as much as I download music.
MP3 as they are easy to find and they eat much less space from my HDD
I for the better part of my life have been downloading in mp3. The main reason being that mp3 not only takes a lot less space than FLAC, but I can hardly tell the difference between flac and mp3. I have an onboard sound card and that mixed with a headset doesn't really produce the best results.
Obviously, for a audiophile's it would seem stupid to go for Mp3. I remember I spoke to some people in the chat that they only used Flac, which really shocked me :P. Anyway If you have 7.1 speakers with a nice asus xonar sound card it would be a waste to not go flac :)
