France approves Internet piracy bill - Security- msnbc.com
    I'm not
Hello to all. I'm not sure if this has been posted in any other threads today....just gandering through the news at work and ran across this. I tried to post this in the Bittorent news forum but said I had insufficient authorization to post it in their so I figured I'd post it in the General Discussion.

    Peace, Mook

Wow, the punishment seems a bit harsh, oh well.

Seems like the world is coming to an end, the p2p world as we know it is turning to dust, stinks.

most likely they are implementing this to frighten people into stopping the hole download/uploading ideal. Such as the somewhat new "law" that was passed in Sweden, All my friends there don't upload anymore because they are scared lol. but really, there isn't anything to be scared of.

From what I know of France, this is unenforceable. It's more of a threat. It would be political suicide in France to en masse start cutting people off from the internet and fining them.

Pirates who ignore e-mail warnings and a registered letter could see their Internet connections cut for up to a year, and they could also face up to euro300,000 ($435,000) in fines or jail time.

Holy SHIT!!! that's ridiculous. If I got a warning letter by registered mail id be switching to SSL d/ling of torrents and a Seedbox/VPN to download my content quick smart and I'd be voting for someone else next time too. Stuff that for a joke.
