Flash is too much per GB, and in my opinion you will save money over an External on an internal one, however that wasn't one of the options so my vote would go to external, but the poll is closed.

This is one of the best userbars I have ever seen:

Tough to compare the two for that i use them for different purposes...
I like the fact that the price/Gb is coming a way down on flash drives. But the cheaper flash gets the bigger/cheaper a HDD gets as well
One caveat: i have had bad experiences with losing data on some ex. HDD so that is always in the back of my mind!
Flash drives are good because they're durable (you can't drop an external and expect it to survive) but HDD have more space so external FTW
for now your best bet would be an ex HDD,and in ex HDD's your best bet in my opinion would be a Western Digital,of course you have the option of a true portable drive e.g. WD My Passport series, which i have and are very very handy(they range from 120~500GB),or a ex backup drive like a WD my book, which can store multiple TB's of data for you,but isn't considered a true portable drive since in most cases needs an adapter to supply it's power...again i think a 120GB portable ex HDD worth's much more than a 32GB flash which would be in a same range of price..
