Default Expose your creativity. Write your own haiku!

    ...or just read mine.

Haiku traditionally is supposed to be three lines totalling seventeen syllables - 5 syllables for the first, 7 for the second, 5 for the third line. Modern haiku sometimes breaks these rules, so it's ok if it's not pure in form.

Just write a short poem of no more than four or five lines. It's supposed to be an observation about nature, but write whatever you want.

The only rule is that you've thought of it yourself, and it's not anyone else's work. Be original!

    I'll start:

    Friendship is
    the way a dog sits
    watching a kitten
    stalk him like prey

BONUS SUPER EXTRA HAPPY HAPPY FUN POEM:

    The butterflies search
    for home
    But the trees
    are no longer there
    Sorry.

Well I certainly am resurrecting this thread from the grave.

    Anyway here's my haiku:

    Sparkling sun kissed sand
    Golden circle on my hand
    Sworn on hallowed land

Not mine but a longtime favorite:

    Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense
