I believe in it but I don't see how people can fall in love without seeing someone. I know from personal experience that you can definitely form a bond with someone over the internet, but "love" is something that I FEEL needs to be formed through actual contact, not just virtual. Not knocking anyone who is in love or has been in love with someone online, just simply stating my opinion. :001_smile:

I think the simple truth is that until it happens to you, you can't really be sure of one way or the other. And love is so personal and individual - I think a person can only really speak for themselves in this matter.

I know myself pretty well so I know for a fact that it will never happen to me, however I do agree that it's different for each individual. I don't reject anyones claims of real love with their online soulmate if that's what they truely feel. I actually like the fact that they are able to say screw society and live their lives how they choose, not how everyone else chooses for them.

There's no doubt that love has a way of defying all logic and restrictions. The heart wants what the heart wants. For someone to say that love can't exist without physical contact is nothing more than a self imposed prejudice. I for one believe that anything is possible and the greatest rewards in life come to those willing to take the biggest risks.

The real question is who amongst us has the courage to follow their hearts wherever it may lead?

I'm fortunate enough to call 3 of them friends...

never happened to me so i cant say either way. i think with the technology now a days, people can pose as anyone they want. whats to say the person your talking to isnt a 60 year old man posing as a 25 year old woman. You can fake cams / pics / profiles / the list goes on.

However, anyone who has found love online, grats! theres nothing wrong with taking a chance on someone who you care about.

Come on. Who can deny the love of the threesome? It's awesome and it's LOVE <3 Nuzza and Giga you cannot just find in real life, you have to search for these kind of people <3333

How weird is it that the girls are all going to agree? Probably not, most people are going to think. I think love transcends through all different mediums. It doesn't matter if it's real life, online, pen pals, Twitter [;)], anything. If you feel it, it's there. I've never fallen in love online (aside from Giga and Nuzza, of course), but I have met my best friends online.

We found each other through a common interest, yet we have all these other things we love together as a family. We still have fights like normal friends and we still share the same love for each other, only it's stronger and truer to me. I find myself wishing they were here with me than my in real life friends. When my grandfather died none of my in real life friends said anything yet I got this wave of support from my online friends. Sure, friends vary from person to person, but this is my experience.

Second: I had a crush on this guy from school who I knew vaguely. I randomly started IMing him and we chatted almost every night. It wasn't until a month into chatting with him that I started to fall for him. We barely talked at school because he's super shy (and was I). Yet we were super comfortable talking endlessly (4am in the morning much?) about anything and everything. We knew almost everything about each other. I have to say that if he did feel the same way about me then it would have turned out wonderfully because we really made a connection. So it is possible. It really is.

Love cannot be explained. It just is.

very well said vegas, and like i had stated before I am with the person that I met online now. we were friends for a long time best friends and we developed feelings for each other we kept a relationship online before we ever saw each other face to face. I have known that when a person loves someone they have strong feelings and desires for the person, cant wait to hear their voice, and be with them. We had all those feelings and more and if was just a plus when we did get to see each other face to face. we were already in love before our encounter happend. I took a risk at love for someone who was about 2000 miles away I followed my heart and it was well worth it.

So inspirational, Angel. I love your story - it reminds me of why I am doing this. Because I know, in the end, he and I will be together and it will have been worth the long wait.

What you and your boyfriend did was incredibly brave... I respect and admire that courage. The world would be a better place, I think, if more people were willing to risk it all for love and follow their heart, wherever it may lead.

yes but i think online love can be a deception. of course there can be exceptions but i think ppl who "fall in love" online dont last long in real life. You could talk to a person for hours and never get to know the real person because not all people online are honest. My friend once dated online, found this person and thought this person was very nice, seemed kinda preppy. Then she met him in real life and he had tattoos and turned out to be a real jerk,

For me, love comes with attraction. For all you know, it could be another man. And how can you be in love with words you see on a screen??

You could meet a best friend online though.
